Stitches out .... yahoo!
All went well with my St. Louis surgeon this morning. I had all the stitches removed. He said that it would continue to drain today & Tuesday and then should heal over again, but thought it looked good. No infection! He e-mailed pictures of it to Chicago today just to give them the "heads up" ..... it kinda feels like we are taking a step back with it, but it will be okay. The skin reacts to the stitches being removed - a little trauma. All is proceeding as planned and we plan to leave for Illinois early afternoon on Wednesday. Many thanks for your continued prayers and for a good meeting with the Chicago doctor at 11:30 on Thursday.

Hey, girl! I wanted to let you know that I've been keeping updated on your saga through the blog and through my -people-talking-to-your-people (i.e.: my mom talking to your mom). HA! I'm so sad that your last Sx did not correct the issue. Hope that the arthrodesis will relieve some of this long-term issue for you. I'm so glad your parents are in town to coddle you and care for you while you recup. Glad you have an understanding workplace. Glad for health insurance (e-GADS!..can you imagine if we didn't?). But I was sad to hear that you have a special shoe on order (for your wardrobe's sake, that is)...of course, I'm happy that the shoe may help you feel less pain/aid your foot, but you've always been such a fashion bug! I hate to see your coordinating accessories quotient go down! Bless you, babe!
