Doing better ....

I am finally doing better this morning and feel like I can at least have a conversation without falling asleep. I slept like 22 hours yesterday, which is not like me at all. I was getting a little worried about it last night. I talked to the anesthetic guy on the phone and he said that all was normal. I seem to be more alert this morning. We took out the pain pump (it was almost empty anyway), so now it is easier to get around. I'm down to taking 1 Darvacet and 1 Aleve for pain medication every 6 hrs. This is the same as I have taken everyday, so not much difference there.

Everyone at the surgery center said that we had a great doctor, so that was reassuring to hear. He said that I could put weight on it now, but I'm going to give it at least a week with no weight, as that will help it to heal better. I have a tingle feeling in my right little finger, but that is from the anesthetic - it happens almost every time and lasts several days and then the feeling comes back. It is a weird deal and makes no sense, but I've had it before.

We had a huge breakfast at the house where we are staying with great yeast rolls with frosting - love that! It is only 38 degrees here today and very windy, which is really cold for Dallas. We're leaving for the airport about 1:15ish ... 4:00pm flight home. This blog post is my 250th post ..... amazing!

Thanks for praying the past few days .... it has helped and has meant a lot to us.

Love & hugs,
je

I canNOT believe it's been 250 blogs! And ALL about the SAME foot problem! Can you IMAGINE? Well, yes you can...it's happening to Y-O-U! I laughed @ the PJ's....hey who needs new ones EVERY time? The pocketbook has to save for the upcoming footwear to be bought once the foot is on the mend and flexing / extending like it should. Isaac and Elijah are playing "hiding" (their word for hide-and-seek) w/ Daddy & I'm hiding out on the computer. I just spent 2 and 1/4 hours in the kitchen making a creamy basil pasta w/ chicken and sun dried tomatoes (don't be too impressed...it was one of those Macaroni Grill bases...would HIGHLY recommend it) so my dogs are BARKING! My dogs are probably not barking in combination as loud as your ONE dog is barking...I'm just saying: I'm glad to be seated. Hey...where did that expression COME from anyway...comparing feet to dogs? WhatEVER! Glad you had yeast rolls w/ icing (yum...did you bring any leftovers home?...kidding...kind of), glad you had a good doc w/ a good rep from his staff (that's always a plus), glad you slept for 22 hrs in 1 day if you needed it...which you probably DID. Praying for your recup this week and prayed for you the night b4 you left, the morning you left, and the day OF...just didn't get to the computer much...ergo this HUGE post 4 U! You may need a nap afterwards! I also made brownies today & Isaac spelled his name in the top w/ M&M's...but he took up too much space w/ the I-S-A-A and had to put the C on the second line. Ah, well... He's only 5. In your corner and thinking of you (again) this week! Hugs! L Jo
