New pics today! The top picture is the new incision area (middle incision is the latest one) and the bottom picture is how the foot looks now with all toes touching the ground. This is proof that walking works best when all 5 toes touch the ground!
Today is the 3 week post-op mark .... yippee! It feels like three months, but I'm managing. I have to wear the glorious boot shoe for another week and then I can transition to a regular shoe (or whatever I can get into). The boot shoe gets tiring by the end of the day and I look forward to sleeping without wearing it. There is no pain, which is great! Last week there was an aching feeling, but that is gone this week. I'm not taking any medication now, which is a nice change. Still sleeping well. I am using the scooter at work and walking as needed. Next we have 125 kids each day at JA .... rest up this weekend.
Today I had to attend a funeral for one of my part-time staff members that lost her brother (age 15) over the weekend to brain cancer. Adam was in heaven for Easter, but it was a tough service today with lots of his High School sports buddies in attendance.
Mom & I are headed to central IL this weekend for a visit. We'll leave tomorrow afternoon and will return on Sunday. No medical appointments this time .... mom has a "Girls Weekend" with three girlfriends from High School & I'll hang out at the Eickhorst farm and will visit with family.
I will likely be at mom & dad's house for another week and then may try to return to my house on the April 25th weekend. I miss my bed and my pansies outside need some TLC.
We are continuing to take it slow and one day at-a-time .... all continues to progress and is positive. Happy weekend to you!

I don't like when it says "0 comments," which is always why I HAVE to leave a comment! I LOVED the new pics! Your foot looks great, even WITH all of the cris-cross-applesauce scarring! It's like a roadmap that leads....hmmmmm....where? Dunno. I like pansies, too...they're so cheery! Good that you're sleeping well w/ no boot and doing well w/ no meds! Glad to hear it! Fun weekend, sounds like, coming up, too...will pray for good rest and family time. And the countdown has begun to "no boot time!!!." Yea! Thinking of you today. Hope you got my cell phone message today. "It" wasn't today, actually...but sometime soon, I'm sure. Keep praying! L Jo
Thanks for the update and wonderful news!

Dear Jenny, I have to say the foot looks good for the trama it has seen. The toes touching the ground look like they are planted solid on the ground and looking for a new pair of shoes to put on to start walking or should I say stuting? Lets hope all continues to remain the same with no changes. Thinking of you. Love,Ted,Carol,Teddy
