Things are still progressing in the right direction with the foot. This week is the 9th week post-op. We did pt twice last week and it went okay. We are doing mostly manual therapy, which involves the therapist working with the foot with his hands …. I can’t do it on myself, so even though we are taking it slow at least I know we are working on things that I cannot do alone. Pt is Wednesday and Friday this week. I have no follow-up appointments with any doctor, which is somewhat scary. It feels like I should have something on my calendar for medical appointments! Last Thursday was the "5 year mark" when I started my foot saga with the first surgery.
Over the weekend & today I thought the foot felt weird on several occasions, but nothing seems to be wrong .. toes are still flat. I found myself checking on toe position multiple times over the weekend.
My big news over the weekend was that I bought my first new car. Dad helped with negotiation at the car dealership on Sat. morning, as that is not my forte. It is a white Honda civic with khaki leather interior – more practical than I had envisioned, but it is exciting.
Over the weekend Heather and Georgie (18 months) came to visit from Ohio and stayed with us for the long weekend. Heather is a foster-sister that lived w/us during her high school years. It was great fun to have a little one running & squealing thorough the house. Georgie loved to sit on the red riding mower in the garage. We played trucks, race cars, went on walks, ate ice-cream together, played with bath toys, saw a deer in the back yard, and read lots of books together this weekend. He was busy, busy and needless to say I was exhausted by Monday night! We took lots of pictures together and special memories were created. We celebrated mom & dad’s 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday night.
My prayer for the week is that gradually my foot will feel more natural when in a shoe and that I’ll have more stamina when standing for longer periods of time.
Thanks for checking in & for your prayers!

Congrads on your new car! I LOVE that new car interior smell! Wish it lasted longer than a few months! Can't wait to see it! Hugs and YEA! L Jo
