I am doing okay ... not a lot new to report, so I guess that is good in my situation. It is like the same song verse twenty ..... swelling - itching - swelling - itching. The extreme heat only continues to make the swelling linger on and on. My foot looks great the first hour of the day and then it slowly increases in size. The positive side is that it does go down quite a bit at night, when it is elevated and in a cool house. I may have to resort to getting a DVD several nights this week, so I'll force myself to keep it elevated and iced.
The itchiness was rough over the weekend, so I'm going to try to avoid eating gluten/wheat this week and will see if that helps. It did in the past, so hopefully it will work again. I had been trying to do the gluten-free diet somewhat, but had not been strict about it lately.
All things considered I am okay with positioning, so I have a lot to be thankful for. Thursday is my birthday, so pray for a non-itchy day on Thursday ... that would be a great gift.
Thanks for your continued prayers!
Jenny

toutwrJenny, First of all happy birthday. I understand all too well what you mean about the swelling, my fingers and wrist are also always swollen. My positioning and range of motion is not good at all. The doctor is going to have made to new casts that I will wear thirty minutes a day for my wrist and my lower arm three time a day can't wait. I will be in control of them with dials until I can get the range of motion where it needs to be. Enough about me. I am so glad to hear you are doing good except for the itching and a little swelling at least you can deal with that. I hope you have a great birthday and don't forget we need to set a date. Love Teddy,Carol
Jenny...just checking in on you & your (hopefully) progress. Itch, swell, itch, swell WOULD be better if it were the dead of winter instead of 90+ w/ humidity to boot. But NO boots, in your case b/c they would make your food itch, swell, itch swell some MORE! Happy birthday early! You're...what...23? Yep! And I'm 24. That's right. Let's keep convincing ourselves of that! Hugs 2 U! L Jo
Just checking in. Thinking @ you. L Jo
