All is set and ready to go for the hip revision surgery on Thursday morning .... have to be at Barnes West Hospital at 7:30am and surgery is scheduled for 9am. I've not prepared much mentally for this, but I'll manage. Since I have been out of the "surgery mode" for awhile, you somewhat forget what it entails.
Please pray for the following:
- no post-op sickness
- only 1-2 hospital nights
- skill for Dr. Martin
- quick healing and minimal post-op pain
I managed to get a sinus infection last weekend, so I've been battling that all week. I am on an antibiotic, but won't be finished for another 5 days. I spoke with the surgeon's PA yesterday and it is okay, as long as it is being treated.
The pain medication that I've always used in the past is no longer made, so I am hoping that whatever I switch to will be effective. I have a weak stomach, so there are a lot of things I cannot take. Hope for the best on this one!
I am not sure if I am taking the laptop to the hospital. I am going to try, but I can't leave it unattended if I am alone.
Thanks for praying!
Jenny

Praying for you today, Jen & your hip (I made a mistake and typed "hop" ... kind of funny) ... your "hip hop" ... hoping you're "hopping around" soon & that you are recovering well. Praying for your WHOLE family too. Kids are stir crazy w/ the rain today. Elijah is using a wiffle ball bat as a jet pack -- he's Boba Fet (bounty hunter from Star Wars). Isaac is rotating between watching the weather satellites and conking Zeke on the middle of his back with yet another wiffle ball back. Zeke doesn't seem to mind & is eating up the attention. He just stands there, wags his tail, and occasionally barks. ?? Love you. L Jo
Thinking of you today. Happy fourth of Jyoooo-lyeeeeee!!!! Hope that somebody stuck one of those itsy bitsy flags up out of the toe of your bandage ... or that somebody used red-white-and-blue IV tape on you or that somebody set off a sparkler in your bedban (well maybe not) ... or something! Wish you were out running around decorating something (your house, your work, your mom's house) and enjoying fireworks. Hope they found an alternative post-op med that sits well w/ your tummy and gives you abscence of mind about your achy hip. :) Love you! L Jo and the Jobacks
