Our first follow-up appointment with the plastic surgeon in Chicago
is tomorrow (in Chicago) at 12:30pm. We will drive back to St. Louis after the appointment. Pray for good traveling weather and that the graft will be healed enough for me to begin to put weight on the foot - and stop using the crutches. Will write after we return from Chicago and learn more about how things are progressing ....

Sorry I've been AWOL (absent w/o leave for you non - military types)...been dealing w/ Dad in the hospital. FYI...when Mom had skin grafting after a surgery years and years ago, she was explaining one of the tools they used to take the graft from the "normal" tissue. Said it looked somewhat like a cheese slicer that they skim across the skin and take up a 2 x 3 patch. I have NOT been able to make a party tray since the day I heard that w/o thinking of that analogy. Hope it makes you smile. Did they use a cheese slicer on you? You're in our thoughts even though I haven't been on the blog for a while! Hugs! The Jobacks (all of us)
