Pictures look good ....

I heard back from the Chicago orthopod via e-mail today and she thought the incision line looks good (so far, so good). It is zero outside in Chicago today, so I'm thankful that we're home and not there. There is no drainage, which is a good sign. She asked me to send more pictures on Tues/Wed. next week and then we're thinking of removing stitches on February 1st (yet to be totally determined). I have walked on the heel more today and got a shower this morning (with the foot covered). I relaxed at my house this afternoon and we made cookies with mom's new mixer. I have a very busy week happening at work this next week, so I need to chill this weekend.

In two weeks, we'll be at the one-year mark from our first big foot surgery last February in Chicago. If I had a dollar for every resident orthopedic surgeon that I've seen since that time, I could have a nice dinner. No one single, though. That was a long week in the hospital and chilly outside, but we're beyond that now. A lot has happened in the past year and we have grown in many ways. I need to make a list of all the things we've learned on the journey. God continues to be gracious, merciful and loving .... hoping to make it to church tomorrow.

Healing in process,
Jenny
