I FINALLY got the test scheduled today .... we are doing it at 3:00pm next Tuesday (Sept. 16th). The test is with Washington Univ. School of Medicine/Barnes. I do know one person that told me this office does a good job with the test, but hardly anyone does it so there wasn't a lot of choice. I am hoping that it reveals something! It isn't done by a doctor, so that had me a wee bit concerned. Not sure if it is one of those things that I'll be able to tell results right away or may need to wait for a fax report.
I still have an appt. scheduled with another orthopedic surgeon in Springfield, MO for 9/19, but I'm thinking I'm going to push that back. I need the results of the gait test first and am still not convinced that it is worth the expense. I could fly to Dallas and consult w/4 doctors for less than the one visit in Springfield will cost - go figure! I still really don't want to do anything else with more doctors, so I'll do the test and see with the Chicago dr. thinks. Wait, I know!
The area at the top of my incision that had not healed is now looking a bit better. It has been really slow to heal and I've had it covered all week, which seems to be working. As long as nothing weird happens with it, we might have turned the corner with that.
Last night I skipped the gym and came home and planted mums outside instead. I needed a break & was trying to get them in before it rains all weekend.

A weekend of rain will be good for mums! Aren't they cheery? My favorites are the ones that are a deep burgundy color, though yellow ones are always bright and happy! I do LOVE, also, that they are not annuals & that they'll poke their hardy heads up again next year! I have some that popped up admist the hastas and begonias out front this year that TOTALLY clash b/c my color scheme for the begonias is red and white. The mums were from years ago and are kind of that medium lavendar color. Pretty, yeah, but not in the present color scheme. Ah, well. Let them pop up. The begonias will be gone soon enough, and the mums can thrive in the chilly fall weather! Good for you to have taken an evening off to get your fingers and toes dirty in the potting soil! Sometimes gardening is good for the soil. Lets your mind ruminate while your hands mulch. At least it does for me. Thinking about you today, and glad to hear the update @ the scheduled gait test. Sounds like an event at an equestrian meet or something: a "gait test." Is that canter, trot, or gallop, miss? Actually, you'd probably be happy with WALK w/o HOBBLE at this point, huh? Love ya! Happy fall and happy weekend! L Jo
